The School Day
Nursery Drop Off & Collection
Our nursery provision starts at 8:45 and runs until 11:45 every morning. Access to the Nursery is via the main school gate (the smaller one) and the Key Stage One playground.
There will be a morning playtime.
School Times (Reception to Year 6)
Our school day officially starts at 08:45 but school gates will be open from 08:30 for a soft entry to the playground and classrooms.
Teachers will have a calm morning registration activity ready for the children to complete whilst the register is taking place.
At 8:45 in the morning, the school gates will be shut and locked to children from Reception to Year 6. Children who arrive to school after this point will have to sign in ‘late’ at the office as the registers will have already been done.
Below is a very general and loose class timetable. It is up to teachers discretion which subjects they do when. Lessons could be longer than one hour or less than one hour.
We aim for 5 hours of English, 5 hours of Maths and 2.5 hours of Reading per week.
If your child is in the Early Years or Key Stage 1 we do like to give them an afternoon playtime to make use of the beautiful grounds field and outdoor area.
We also participate in regular outdoor learning and daily mile programme.

End of School Day
At 3.15pm the gates open for the end of the school day, parents should go around to their children’s classroom to collect from their external doors. Older children in Years 4, 5 & 6 are allowed to leave school to meet parents in the Key Stage 1 playground or outside the gate if we have parental permission. Please ask for a permission form from the office if you require one. In such cases, responsibility for the safety of the child after leaving the school building reverts to parents.
If there is an emergency and you are not available to collect your children at the end of the day, please let the office know so that we can ensure they are looked after whilst they wait.
We also need to know if a different adult is going to collect your child. Please let the teacher know in the morning or contact the office.
Length of the School Week
This gives us a 32.5 hour week (inclusive of breaks and lunch) and 26 and a quarter hours of learning time per week.
