The School Day

Nursery Drop Off & Collection

Our nursery provision starts at 8:45 and runs until 3.15 Monday to Friday (term times only) Access to the Nursery is via the main school gate (the smaller one) and the Key Stage One playground. Children have the option to enjoy lunch with us at school - either a packed lunch from home or a school meal (chargeable).

School Times (Reception to Year 6)

Our school day starts with registration at 08:45. School gates will be open from 08:30 for a soft start. Children come into class and will have a 'start of day activity'.

Teachers will have a calm morning registration activity ready for the children to complete whilst the register is taking place.

At 8:45 in the morning, the school gates will be shut and locked to children from Reception to Year 6. Children who arrive at school after this point will have to sign in ‘late’ at the office as the registers would be complete.

Below is a model timetable. It is up to teachers discretion which subjects they teach and when.

We also participate in regular outdoor learning and daily mile programme.

Assemblies:

We enjoy 'collective celebration' and meet as a whole school 4 times each week. See below for a model of our terms' assembly topics. From 'Motivational Monday' & 'Work out Wednesday' keep-fit sessions, to topic-based assemblies, we believe gathering as a whole school ensures we have opportunities to talk and share as a whole school community.

Break times:

Reception/KS1 have a morning break, lunch break and an afternoon breaktime.

KS2 have a morning break and lunch break.

End of School Day

At 3.15pm the gates open for the end of the school day, parents should go around to their children’s classroom to collect from their external doors. Older children in Years 4, 5 & 6 are allowed to leave school to meet parents in the Key Stage 1 playground or outside the gate if we have parental permission. Please ask for a permission form from the office if you require one. In such cases, responsibility for the safety of the child after leaving the school building reverts to parents.

If there is an emergency and you are not available to collect your children at the end of the day, please let the office know, so that we can ensure they are looked after whilst they wait.

We also need to know if a different adult is going to collect your child. Please let the teacher know in the morning or contact the office.

Length of School Week

This gives us a 32.5 hour week (inclusive of breaks and lunch) and 26 and a quarter hours of learning time per week.
